Ghostbustersnews.com makes me feel good!

So literally hours after I posted my Ghostbusters picture on this site and deviantart, the AWESOME guys at ghostbustersnews.com crowned it as "The best depiction of the original Ghostbusters film...ever!" I'm pretty proud of this. I wanted to do the poster as my ulitmate tribute to my favorite film and if I can get a review that good from hardcore fans of the movie then I guess my job is done (claps metaphorical dust off of hands).

If you want to check out the post about my picture (and a badass Ghostbusters site to boot) check it out here.

I am now king for the day and will wear a crown (made of underpants) to signify this triumph!

Cats and dogs, living together...MASS HYSTERIA!!

The Spook Central Centerfold...

This was a lot of fun to do, I've had the idea scribbled as a little doodle in my sketchbook for ages so it was good to finally turn it into reality. Plus I finally drew a version of Bill Murray that looked like Bill Murray!

Megan = Metal

I saw this photo of Megan Fox, firing off a mad bird, on the internet and this idea pooped into my brain. A goofy (but ssssexxxy) evening's fun.

There is nothing you can possess which I cannot take away.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark... part two of my greatest movies tribute. It took me a long time to love Raiders but now its taken its place in my top 5.

This took a lot of planning and I'm really happy with how it came together. A lot of the effects came out of happy accidents while playing around with photoshop. I still think my Harrison Ford looks a little too much like Dennis Quaid though (which is funny cos he's the poor man's Harrison Ford).

History is gonna change...

This took about 3 days. Played with different colours and gradients to get the right feel. Thought I would do some decent film images for my portfolio so this is part one of the 'James's top five movies collection' (actually its my 3rd favorite film but you get it).

This is based on an unused design for the original movie poster by one of my favorite artists, Drew Struzan.

Boop boop be doop!

Russell Brand... I've listened to his radio shows a lot while I work and its one of the things that's helped me through my college course. God bless you Rusty Brandstein!!!

Nerd Alert!!

The Goonies. My fifth and final movie for my college project. This has come out really well and apart from a little tweaking here and there its pretty much finished. Plus the 3D works if you've got a pair of glasses handy. Also the amount of bats I've had to draw for it have given me nightmares about getting bit by vampire bats, those little hairy jerks.

Bootleg Bill.

This is a tee design I submitted to Threadless.com a few weeks ago. I got some nice comments but didn't get a great score so it doesn't look like my fashion designing career is going to take off just yet. But I've got some other ideas so maybe I'll be on the catwalks in the future (when presumably they'll have ran out of 80's and 90's clothes to rip off and they'll move on to the 'retro 2000' look. Take THAT fashion industry!)

EXCLUSIVE: Dogs love bike rides and buckling their seat belts!

Here are two comic strips I did for 'The Bobby Club', a newsletter given to children by the police. The stories feature Bob, my miniature bull terrier getting into minor road-safety based adventures and learning his lesson from a friendly copper named (confusingly) PC Bob. They're always fun to do and I myself get to learn a little something about safety, so everyone wins.

HAIR OF THE DOG THAT BIT ME!

Jack and son have a beautiful heart to heart chat. Just before he topples over the edge of sanity and goes insane, crazy, axe-murderer style. This was a weird bit of experimentation which I'm pretty happy with, kind of a "throw everything at the wall, see what sticks" deal, but it works well with the movie. Plus I got to use flock wallpaper in my work, and what kind of an artist would I be if I never utilized the RAW power of flock wallpaper?

You've always been the caretaker...

A test piece for my two page Shining comic. Appropriately creepy.

Wolfie's just fine honey...

Another piece from my "Motion Picture" college project. If Ghostbusters is my favorite film, Terminator 2 (Judgement Day) is certainly a close second. Like Ghostbusters, it's a film I've watched a hundred times since I was a youngster and one I'll most likely watch a thousand times more before Our Lord God Terminates me himself. Praise him..... Arnold that is...

Who are these guys?

A Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid comic. The idea behind my college project is to draw segments of my favorite films in a graphic novel style, each with a style of art that compliments the genre of the film (and the mood of the scene). So I battled with my old enemy 'water colours' and gave Newman and Redford the two pages of sepia toned brush strokes they deserve. I'm not totally happy with the result but it was a good experiment and an interesting journey out of my comfort zone.

I really 'Shruted' it...

Jim - Question: What bear is best?
Dwight - That's a ridiculous question...
Jim - False. Black bear.
Dwight - That'd debatable. There are basically two schools of thought...
Jim - Fact. Bears eat beets. Bears. Beats. Battlestar Galactica.
