Hey there ya big stud!

My self portrait, in all its hairy, gremlin-like glory...

I can't believe that Price prefers McDermott's card to mine...

My first business card. Now I am a professional!

Nerd Alert!!

The Goonies. My fifth and final movie for my college project. This has come out really well and apart from a little tweaking here and there its pretty much finished. Plus the 3D works if you've got a pair of glasses handy. Also the amount of bats I've had to draw for it have given me nightmares about getting bit by vampire bats, those little hairy jerks.

Bootleg Bill.

This is a tee design I submitted to Threadless.com a few weeks ago. I got some nice comments but didn't get a great score so it doesn't look like my fashion designing career is going to take off just yet. But I've got some other ideas so maybe I'll be on the catwalks in the future (when presumably they'll have ran out of 80's and 90's clothes to rip off and they'll move on to the 'retro 2000' look. Take THAT fashion industry!)

EXCLUSIVE: Dogs love bike rides and buckling their seat belts!

Here are two comic strips I did for 'The Bobby Club', a newsletter given to children by the police. The stories feature Bob, my miniature bull terrier getting into minor road-safety based adventures and learning his lesson from a friendly copper named (confusingly) PC Bob. They're always fun to do and I myself get to learn a little something about safety, so everyone wins.

HAIR OF THE DOG THAT BIT ME!

Jack and son have a beautiful heart to heart chat. Just before he topples over the edge of sanity and goes insane, crazy, axe-murderer style. This was a weird bit of experimentation which I'm pretty happy with, kind of a "throw everything at the wall, see what sticks" deal, but it works well with the movie. Plus I got to use flock wallpaper in my work, and what kind of an artist would I be if I never utilized the RAW power of flock wallpaper?

You've always been the caretaker...

A test piece for my two page Shining comic. Appropriately creepy.

Wolfie's just fine honey...

Another piece from my "Motion Picture" college project. If Ghostbusters is my favorite film, Terminator 2 (Judgement Day) is certainly a close second. Like Ghostbusters, it's a film I've watched a hundred times since I was a youngster and one I'll most likely watch a thousand times more before Our Lord God Terminates me himself. Praise him..... Arnold that is...

Who are these guys?

A Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid comic. The idea behind my college project is to draw segments of my favorite films in a graphic novel style, each with a style of art that compliments the genre of the film (and the mood of the scene). So I battled with my old enemy 'water colours' and gave Newman and Redford the two pages of sepia toned brush strokes they deserve. I'm not totally happy with the result but it was a good experiment and an interesting journey out of my comfort zone.

I really 'Shruted' it...

Jim - Question: What bear is best?
Dwight - That's a ridiculous question...
Jim - False. Black bear.
Dwight - That'd debatable. There are basically two schools of thought...
Jim - Fact. Bears eat beets. Bears. Beats. Battlestar Galactica.

Who Watches The Watchmen?

I know now why you cry...but it is something i can never do...

Film number three in my project is 1991's most robot shooting people in the knees packed movie Terminator 2 starring Arnie Schwarzenheimer. I've gone for a messy style and a limited pallete for this as it is befitting of the tone 'o the film. Also befitting the tone of the film, robots from the future will travel back to kill me and prevent me from finishing my degree (PSYCHE, robots love me and want to see me do well in all my endeavors ).

For a moment there I thought we were in trouble....

Now my Ghostbusters comic is finished I've moved onto the next piece in my project; Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Here are the two prep sketches I did, computerjiggered into a movie poster style picture. I'd have liked a nice tattered paper effect on it to make it look like a proper wild west cliche but I'm not sure how to do that.

Oh well....Raindrops keep fallin' on my head.....

Busting makes me feel good.

This is something thats been wafting around in my brain box for a long time. Its the first piece I've done for my final year at college and I think its turned out really well, I'd go as far as to say its my best piece of work....And now that I've finished patting myself on the back...back to work. No rest for the wikkkid.

The Rehab Club...

These are characters I designed for "FREEK" an indie club night at Swindon's Rehab club in Old Town. I really enjoyed doing these, they came out really well and I gave my colouring and shadowing muscles (yes they're actual muscles, look it up) a workout. Oh and yeah that is the Breakfast Club poster. Those guys only met each other once, but it changed their lives forever...

FREEK OUT!

Actual memories of exciting things...

This is a two page story I drew for a contest in the Observer newspaper. It's a tale of seven year old James and the first time he got into trouble at school. And how it scarred him. Scarred him DEEP...
