'Buster Move!
Hey everyone! I've got another t-shirt design up for voting on Threadless. This one is based on that film about ghosts, and how people feel good when they bust them! Check it out!

Welcome to SModcast!

My tribute to the divine beauty which is SModcast, the weekly podcast of Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier which has provided background sound for my drawing for a few years now. I listen and re-listen to Smith's network of podcasts pretty much every day while I work and they've been vital in me living the life of a pro-illustrator (i.e. me sat at my desk, eating jaffa cakes, cursing myself as I erase a wonky arm for the eighteenth time)
If you haven't heard it before and enjoy deliciously profane sandwiches of hilarity then check it out. My filthy mind insists.
Update: Kevin Smith has seen the pic and deems it "EPIC"!

TEAm WORK & Sandwich Town!

Here are two unsuccessful Threadless t-shirt designs. Both involving cute cartoon characters happily bounding to their cartoony deaths... No, YOU'RE the one who's weird!!
I really like these designs, its a shame that they didn't get picked but its always fun to play the Threadless game. Stay tuned for more designs soon!

Modern love gets me to the church on time.

Modern love walks beside me, modern love walks on by.

An art tutor once told me that he liked my art but wouldn't want to live in the world that I'd created through my drawings. I always remembered this and its influenced how I draw and specifically how I design my characters.
These are sketches for a graphic novel idea I've had stuck in my head for years now. It started as a bit of indulgent fantasy and wish fulfillment but I've slowly chipped away at the idea like a bit of marble and I've ended up with a story that I'd like to tell. I'm going to put more character designs up on here soon so I'd love for you to tell me if you could live in their world.
Its a bit like Avatar with less dragons, but ironically with people putting ponytails where they don't belong.

Scott earned the Power of Love.

My tribute to Scott Pilgrim (inspired by an old Street Fighter 2 Turbo poster). The Scott Pilgrim books by Bryan Lee O'Malley are incredible and I've recently re-read them all in preparation for the final chapter and the Edgar Wright directed movie, both of which will rule like massive kings.

Ball ball ball. Footy footy footy!

This is my contribution to Kick Off! published by Tick Tock Books. It was my first published work through my agents Advocate Art and its really cool to finally see it in print. It was a fun job to start my professional career with, even though I know absolutely nothing about footballs.

To The Rescue!

I draw a comic strip for Storm Force magazine, about the Royal National Lifeboat Institute saving lives on the high seas, or in this episode, on shore. This was a fun story to do as it showed a different side of the RNLI.
The artwork has to be seen and approved by the actual lifeguards featured so I had to make sure everything is 100% accurate!
Underneath that are two other illustrations I recently did for RNLI magazine 'Offshore'.
Summer is coming, and I hope I feel better by the time it does...

Nyum nyum nyum.

This is a poster I did on spec for Andrew Collins and Richard Herring's brilliant "Collings and Herrin Podcast". I sent it through to Andrew and Richard and got a good response from them but sadly it won't be used. However they did post it on their blog which was great. If you haven't checked out any of their podcasts and you enjoy your satire covered in delicious chocolatey profanity then check them out here.
